Lamborghini has revealed an ultra-exclusive new model – the Centenario – at the Geneva Motor Show. The 770 horsepower, limited edition Lambo, which celebrates 100-years since the birth of company founder Ferruccio Lamborghini, can sprint to 62 in just 2.8 seconds, topping out at over 217mph. Just 20 coupe and 20 roadster versions will be produced, and all 40 have already been snapped up, despite an asking price of over £1.3 million plus tax.
F1 driver Felipe Massa played Bond villain for the day in Mexico, driving a Jaguar C-X75 stunt car from the new film SPECTRE. Jaguar partnered with Williams Advanced Engineering on the production of the C-X75 and as such, both Williams F1 cars will carry the 007 SPECTRE logo at this weekend’s Mexican Grand Prix. Massa drove the car to celebrate F1's return to Mexico and the Americas Premiere of the new film which heavily features Mexico City in the opening scenes.
Lamborghini unveiled its new Huracan LP 610-4 Spyder at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The convertible Lambo is powered by a 5.2-litre V10 engine producing 610 bhp for a 0 to 62 time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 201 mph. The lightweight, electrohydraulic soft-top opens in 17 seconds and the Spyder also includes new features for the Huracan family such as cylinder on demand with 'stop start' and a new electronically controlled all-wheel drive set-up.
Salon Privé has released teaser footage showing what to expect at this years Luxury Supercar Show. Celebrating its tenth anniversary, ten supercars cars old and new were rolled out - from the Ferrari 330GTC to the Lamborghini Countach. With events at the show ranging from a classic car auction to the Concours d’Elégance - the current Hypercar Collection 'top 3’ were also on display – namely the McLaren P1, Ferrari LaFerrari and Porsche 918 Spyder. Salon Privé runs from 3-5 September at Oxfordshire's Blenheim Palace.
Peugeot has revealed its Vision Gran Turismo, designed exclusively for the Sony PlayStation game GranTurismo6. Featuring a 1:1 power-to-weight ratio – meaning its weight of 875kg results in 875bhp – the Hypercar also launches from 0 to 62 in just 1.73 seconds. A 3.2-litre V6 turbo engine sits just behind the driver and lays the power down via a six-speed manual transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. The Peugeot Vision Gran Turismo will be released as a part of a free update for the Sony PlayStation game in the very near future.
McLaren has revealed its new 570S Coupe. The first model in a new 'Sports Series' family shares its DNA with the McLaren Super Series and Ultimate Series that sit above it in the range hierarchy. The light-weight 570S is billed as the most usable McLaren to date and is named after its 570PS 3.8-litre V8, which launches the new car to 62 in 3.2 seconds and on to a top speed of 204mph. The McLaren 570S goes on sale next month with pricing expected to be around the £145,000 mark.
Porsche chose Geneva for the world debut of the 911 GT3 RS. The uber coupe’s four-litre engine pumps out 500 brake horsepower for a 0-62mph time of 3.3 seconds. Lightweight components include a magnesium roof and carbon fibre engine cover, while a low front spoiler, large rear wing and pit lane limiter button have been designed for the racetrack. Audi revealed its all-new R8 and confirmed prices for the second generation supercar, with the range-topping V10 plus costing £137,500 OTR. On sale in May, the new R8 boasts a 0-62 time of 3.2 seconds and top speed 205mph. Danish sportscarmaker Zenvo unveiled an updated ST1. It's powered by the same turbocharged and supercharged 6.8-litre V8, which is now mated to a new faster-shifting sequential automatic transmission, bringing the ST1's 0-62 time down to under 3 seconds.

Powered by a 750 bhp V12, the new Lambo was designed with a focus on weight reduction and thus makes extensive use of carbon fibre to achieve electrifying performance figures: 0-62 in 2.8 seconds, and a top speed of over 217 mph. Koenigsegg meanwhile showed off its new Regera. Powered by a 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 and 3 electric motors, the Swedish company described it as the most powerful production car ever, claiming a total power output somewhere close to 1800bhp. Making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show, Aston Martin’s all-new Vulcan is a track-only supercar. Boasting over 800 bhp from its 7.0-litre V12, the all-carbon fibre racer promises extreme performance – but will be limited to just 24 examples worldwide.
Jaguar Land Rover will once again supply the 007 franchise with vehicles for the latest Bond adventure, SPECTRE. The Jaguar C-X75 concept will be joined by a beefy Range Rover Sport SVR and Land Rover Defender Big Foot in the new movie. The Big Foots were constructed by the Special Ops department, with huge 37-inch diameter off-road tyres, while the C-X75 will feature in a spectacular car chase through Rome alongside the new Aston Martin DB10.
Sportscar specialist Arash Motor Company, has released details of its latest model, the AF8. Powered by a 7-litre V8 engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox, the lightweight supercar produces 550bhp and 637Nm of torque, which will launch it from 0-60 in around 3.5 seconds on to a top speed in the region of 200 mph. A 'Hybrid' chassis construction features carbon fibre and aluminium honeycomb along with high tensile-steel and Kevlar for extra strength. On the road prices for the Arash AF8 start from £165,000.
The heir to the Lamborghini Gallardo, the Huracan LP 610-4, made its Show debut in Geneva. Powered by a 610 bhp, 5.2-litre normally-aspirated V10 engine, it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.2 seconds and reach a top speed of 202 mph. As is the tradition with Lamborghini, the Huracan derives its name from the world of bullfighting and features typically dramatic styling. It is to be produced at the Sant'Agata plant on a newly-equipped production line. Delivery to the first customers is planned for spring 2014.
