Tesla to discontinue lower-powered Model S 60

One year after introducing the Model S 60 kWh battery, Tesla has confirmed it is now discontinuing this option.

Launched as a more affordable entry point to the range and to accelerate the adoption of electric vehicles, Tesla say that most customers ended up buying an equivalent to the Model S 75 kWh. To now simplify the ordering process, Tesla will be removing the 60 kWh option from the lineup - including the 60D all-wheel drive model.

If you were interested in a 60 kWh Model S, you have until 16th April 2017 to place an order. Any 60 kWh Model S will have the ability to upgrade their battery to 75 kWh via an over the air update.
