The Government is committed to reducing emissions of carbon dioxide
(CO2) from cars and improving local air quality. CO2 is a major
source of greenhouse gases, which contribute to climate change.

For the private motorist, the impact is the revised Road Tax system
known as Graduated Vehicle Excise Duty (GradVED), which quite simply
means - the less it pollutes, the less you pay.

|
For the company car driver, the new company car benefit tax is also
linked to CO2 emissions - favouring drivers who choose 'cleaner'
cars.
