| Mondeo driver is distracted by news of £25 congestion charge |
|
Under the pretence of penalising SUVs, Ken Livingstone intends to tax Ford Mondeos off the streets of London. If he gets the green light for his proposed hike in the London Congestion Charge, hapless owners of 2.0-litre Mondeos will have to pay £25 a day to enter Ken’s fiefdom.
Livingstone has been told that every other car in London is a Mondeo, so he figures that if he can rid London of the ubiquitous Ford, London traffic will be halved. But because the non-driving Livingstone has lost his Car Trumps Family Car set, he is not quite sure what a Mondeo looks like so he has spread the £25 net to include selected Peugeots, Saabs, Hondas and Citroens, none of which is an MPV or SUV but all of which might be Mondeos.
