I read in ‘The Week’ that the M6 has been named Britain’s most haunted road. Among the spectres said to haunt late-night drivers are a Roman soldier, a female hitch-hiker, and a ghostly lorry driving towards oncoming traffic. But the most unlikely apparition was a Sprinter van seen travelling at 70 mph.
