Back-seat driving kit for new Kia Carens
Back-seat driving kit for new Kia Carens

In preparation for the launch of its new Carens, Kia has published the results of a survey that examined to what extent children’s behaviour in a car contributes to drivers’ stress levels. No prizes (although Terms and Conditions apply) for guessing the outcome, but one of the methods suggested by Kia to relieve stress is: ‘Swap seating arrangements around. Break with convention and consider sitting in the back with your children’.

  1. Sounds like a great idea. Swap seats with the kids and let them drive! Oh, sorry aren’t those called boy racers!

  2. Most full-sized adults could still drive quite comfortably from the back seat of a Kia Picanto.

  3. If you’ve got a couple of child seats fitted as per the new regulations, you’ll have a hell of a job squeezing in to the back at all.

  4. Would you want to drive a Carens from the front anyway?

  5. What a brilliant idea. I shall definitely try it next time I take the kids out in the car. The kids say they are really looking forward to it, but my husband doesn’t think they will notice any difference.
