The price represents a further £670 customer saving over previous Alto campaigns and Suzuki is hoping it will help drive sales of its second most popular model, which are projected at 8,000 units for a full year.

The recently revised Alto includes Dual VVT (Variable Valve Timing) for greater engine flexibility and response (maximum torque is 90Nm/66lbft at 3,400 rpm) and this has resulted in reduced CO2 emissions as well as improvements to fuel economy.
When fitted with a manual gearbox, the Alto now emits 99g/km CO2 and is therefore exempt from the London Congestion Charge and zero-rated for VED. This is coupled with a combined fuel consumption figure of 65.7mpg.
The five-door Alto is available with three grades of specification - SZ, SZ3 and SZ4. All models are classified in car insurance group 4E.
