Proton's pitch to budget motorists

At a time when most shoppers are eager to save money, Proton has reminded us of its credit crunch-busting line-up.

For instance, new Protons come with a 3 year/60,000 mile warranty and 3 years free RAC cover, plus free metallic paint until 31st March 2009.

The Savvy 5-door city car comes with reverse distance sensors fitted as standard.

There's also an automated transmission option, which has exactly the same fuel consumption and low CO2 as the manual.

For city car fans of something a little different, the Savvy is priced at £7,295.

If you're after something a bit sportier, the Satria Neo has a 16 valve Lotus-engineered CamPro engine.

It also features a highline spoiler, 16" alloy wheels and low profile tyres, with race-inspired bucket seats, steering wheel mounted audio controls, electric wing mirrors and parking sensors, priced at £9,995 OTR.

In addition, the Satria Neo Sport option comes with a stylish leather interior and twin sports stripes in a choice of colours.

And until 31st March, the GEN-2 1.6 GSX hatchback receives a stylish leather interior worth £1,000 at no extra charge.
