 Cayenne Hybrid in L.A.
 12.11.2007
Hybrid drive comes to the Cayenne
Not widely perceived by the public as a particularly 'green' manufacturer, Porsche is to show off the Cayenne Hybrid at the forthcoming L.A. Auto Show.

Often credited with ensuring the current financial health of the company, the Cayenne luxury SUV will soon be available with hybrid transmission.

The Full-Parallel-Hybrid System developed by Porsche should enable the off-roader to achieve approximately 26mpg.

Porsche will be introducing the more economical SUV before the end of the decade.

The Stuttgart based company stirred up some controversy earlier this year when it announced plans to switch from attending the Detroit show in favour of Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Auto Show has become the most significant show for Porsche in the USA, reaching Porsche customers in one of the brand's main regions with maximum impact and with a great effect on the company's image.

The particular lifestyle of California is borne out by the new Porsche GT2 likewise making its North American debut in Los Angeles.

The 530-hp sportscar is powered by a biturbo engine featuring a new expansion intake manifold to reduce fuel consumption under full load.

The fastest production-911 of all time will be available as of February 2008 in the USA.
