Infiniti has facelifted the FX range, with the luxury SUV receiving styling cues previewed on the Sebastian Vettel Version. The FX range for 2012 is made up of four trim levels, with a choice of two petrol engines: a 3.7-litre V6 or a 5-litre V8 - and one diesel: a 3.0-litre V6. <br />Every FX is equipped with Infiniti's intelligent torque-sensing all-wheel drive system and a 7-speed automatic transmission. Ford to triple EcoBoost engine production

Ford will produce more than 1.3 million EcoBoost engines to go into European vehicles over the next 3 years: more than half of which are expected to be the new 1.0-litre, 3 cylinder unit. At the same time, around 400,000 1.6-litre EcoBoost engines will be produced at Bridgend, bound for European vehicles, while total production will top 1 million units for all markets, with exports to North America having begun earlier this year. EcoBoost engine technology was developed by UK powertrain engineers at the Ford Dunton Technical Centre and Ford Dagenham engine plant in Essex. More...

Ferrari joins Queen's Jubilee celebrations

Ferrari, the marque of the prancing horse, teamed up with Italy's 4th Mounted Carabinieri Regiment to honour the Queen at the Diamond Jubilee Pageant. The ceremonial unit performed the famous Historic Carosello, a demonstration of superb horsemanship. BMW has released details of the all-new 3 Series Touring. Identical to the saloon from the B-pillar forward, the 3 Series estate's boot capacity is up by 35 litres over the previous model, while standard equipment including split folding rear seats, an automatic tailgate and a stowable luggage compartment cover, increase its versatility. Monkeying around in a Hyundai i30

In the first endurance test of its kind in the UK by a car manufacturer, cheeky safari park baboons were let loose on a Hyundai i30 hatchback. The monkeys simulated the punishment to which a car would be subjected, by the children of a typical family: jumping up and down on seats, pushing and prodding buttons and slamming storage bins. Outside, the paintwork was smeared and scraped, but the hard-wearing finish protected the car from major damage. As well as confirming the robust quality of the i30, Hyundai hopes lessons learnt from the monkey tests can inform the research and development of future cars. More...

MINI has revealed its fastest production car ever - the John Cooper Works GP. The new performance hatch lapped the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife circuit in 8 minutes and 23 seconds - 19 seconds faster than its predecessor. Underpinning the GP's performance is powertrain, chassis and aerodynamics technology inspired by motorsport. The MINI John Cooper Works GP was unveiled publicly at the MINI United festival and will go on sale later this year in a limited run of 2,000 cars. More...

VW has created a new trim level for the Polo called the R Line. Based on the existing Match specification, the R Line features deeper front and rear bumpers, a black gloss radiator grille with R Line badging and 16-inch alloy wheels. The new trim is available with just one engine, the existing 1.2-litre petrol, which can send the Polo R Line from 0 to 62 in 9.7 seconds, on to a top speed of 118 mph. Nissan has announced the Juke-R will go into limited production, with the high-performance compact crossover to be built-to-order. The Japanese company has received firm orders for three cars to be built on the back of its global debut in Dubai last January. Volvo Hybrid Truck sets New World records

Volvo has set two new world speed records for a commercial vehicle with its hybrid truck 'Mean Green' at Wendover Airfield in Utah. 'Mean Green' managed to hit 147 mph on the Flying Kilometre, and 95 mph for the Standing Kilometre. Its combination of an electric motor and diesel engine delivers over 2,000 horsepower and nearly 6,800 Nm of torque.
